Lori Melies

Barn Manager

Lori Melies is a native of Portland, OR and has lived in Colorado Springs, CO since 2005.
After graduating high school as a junior and moving out to Colorado on her own from Oregon,
she started working at Turkey Creek Ranch as a wrangler, and later on as a lesson instructor.
Through her late teens and early twenties she worked at the Penrose Event Center as a stable hand,
in Penrose CO assisting in breaking driving teams, at The Stables at the Broadmoor as the caretaker, and at the age of 21 starting Bradley Stables, a 36 stall, full care boarding facility located on the south end of Colorado Springs where she taught lessons, trained horses, and ran the boarding operation.
and has recently purchased Red Canyon Stables in the hopes of getting it up and running as an equestrian center

J&A Horsemanship is a small, veteran and family owned business who operate out of Canon City, CO. They have been in business going on 3 years, and pride themselves in hard work and dedication to the horse. They believe every horse should have a solid foundation through the three most important fundamentals; Feel, Timing, and Balance and get the horse gentle and handy through these teaching.
